Focus

The project, starting in winter 1995, and the counselling centre for political traumatised people of the former GDR, founded in 1998, focusses on help and support for victims of persecution, imprisonment, surpression and psychological decomposition by the former GDR dictatorship and offers them psychotherapeutical advice.
The counselling centre gets support and is sponsored by the "Stiftung zur Aufarbeitung der SED Diktatur" ("Foundation for research of the GDR"), the "Berliner Senat" ("Berlin Senate"), the headassociations of the "Freien Wohlfahrtsverbände" ("Free Welfare Associations") and the county and country representative of the state security service files of the former GDR.
Two counsellors assist to support the victims of physical and psychological persecution of the former GDR dictatorship, who are in the need of psychosocial support as well as psychotherapeutical guidance in order to cope with their traumatical life experience.

Offers

As contact for focussed and universal counselling and direction, we offer:

Help in questions of reimbursement or claim of maintainance applications according to the criminal rehabilitation law / the 2nd SED adjustment law, social counselling in common, e.g. according to BSHG ( "Bundessozialhilfegesetz" / "countysocialaidlaw")
Psychotherapeutical help with diseases, caused by political imprisonment and decomposition measures
- social and psychological stabilization
- support and direction in order to process traumatic experiences with complex traumatas
Support and direction of self help groups in order to process traumatic experiences
Supervision and further training for institutions, that are consulting political traumatised people of the GDR dictatorship
